Physically speaking the panels are about 65 inches by 39 inches for residential installations and they weigh about 40 pounds per panel. There are some differences in how they are created but they are considered to be in the same thin film category of solar cells. Nowadays the market is dominated by two solar cell sizes. Though not as common as 60 72 or 96 cell panels some solar panel manufacturers produce solar panels with half cut cells essentially doubling the number of solar cells within the panel.
